He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Fulton and Jane Barron Ervin; his wife Lura Martin Ervin; his great grandchildren, Samuel Fulton Ervin V, Mariah Lynn Ervin and William Gregory Ervin; and his siblings, Bunkie, Martha, Janet, Jake, Bill Clarkson and Frank Vass (Elizabeth Ervin).
He is survived by: his sons, Samuel Fulton Ervin III (Joan), James Martin Ervin (Louis) and Robert Witherspoon Ervin; his grandsons, Samuel Fulton Ervin IV (Micca), Gavin Witherspoon Ervin (Brianna) and James Stuart Alexander Ervin; his great grandchildren, David Gabriel Ervin, Marcus Wilson Ervin, Isaac Alexander Ervin, Ezekiel James Ervin, Drake Witherspoon Ervin, Ava Marie Ervin, Laura Laine Ervin and Daniel Fulton Ervin; and his sisters-in-law, Susann Finklea Ervin, Ellen Gunkel Ervin and Mary Katherine Vass. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Darlington Presbyterian Church, 311 Pearl Street, Darlington, SC 29532.
