She was predeceased by: her parents, Aaron Melton and Louise Lowry Melton; her husband Russell O. Boatman; her son Kerry Boatman; her brothers, James Melton (Mildred) and Kenneth "Ed" Melton; and her brother-in-law James Bennett.
She is survived by: her children, Benjamin H. Boatman (Erin) of Florence, SC, Roy Haney of Sacramento, CA, Shane Boatman of Florence, SC, Susan Boatman Bailey (Tom) of Florence, SC and Rebecca Streett (Tom Werts) of Florence, SC; her grandchildren, Malissa Flores (Jesus Rodriguez), Ginny Bailey, Kerrianne Stone (Josh) and Emily Bailey; her sister Faye Bennett; her sisters-in-law, Jean Melton and Quida Walker; and her caregivers, Wendy Rabon, Janet Wiseman, Janice McFadden and Shamikia Ascenio. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
