We are sad to announce that on March 8, 2025, at the age of 86, Maxie Turner of Florence, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Maxie departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Maxie. Though Maxie may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Ellis and Lula Poston Turner; his son Jody Wayne Turner; and his siblings, Ernest, Willie, Albert, Bennie Lee, Harold, Marshall Turner and Beatrice Chandler.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Lib" Norton Turner; and his brother Russell Turner (Debbie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Layton-Anderson Funeral Home (4210 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC 29501). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Palmetto Street Church of God (3132 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC 29501).
