We are sad to announce that on October 15, 2023, at the age of 93, Marie Hatoway Walkup of Florence, South Carolina, born in Gastonia, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hatoway and Louise Moore Hatoway; her husband Robert Morrow Walkup; her siblings, William R. Hatoway, Jr., Dorothy H. Hardis, Frances H. Crest and Bernice H. Hill; and her daughter-in-law Linda Gail Walkup.

She is survived by: her sons, John Thomas "Tommy" Walkup (Terry) of Florence, William Albert "Bill" Walkup (Brenda) of Pine Ridge, James Robert "Robin" Walkup of Darlington and David Wayne "Chuck" Walkup (Laura) of Pamplico; her brother David Hatoway (Fran) of Milton, FL; and her close friend Dot King. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
