It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Earl Benton of Florence, South Carolina, who passed away on January 14, 2023, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Grady Benton; and his daughters, Shannon Smith and Ashley Heyward McPherson. He is survived by: his mother Ida Mae Gerkin; his brother Stevie Benton; his wife Susan Heyward Benton; his children, Michael "Mikey", Mason of Joseph, Travis, Trey Benton of Andra, Joseph McPherson, Angel Wallace, Charlene Wallace and Kacey Johnson; and his nieces and nephews, Joshua Benton, Blake Heyward, Taylor Benton, Sierra Benton and Chelsea Heyward. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
