He was predeceased by: his parents, James Evander Edwards and Margie Mae Walters Edwards; and his siblings, Viola "Ollie" Harrelson, Cecil Edwards and Wilson Eugene Edwards.

He is survived by: his children, Amanda Holt (Brian), James Edwards, Michalin Edwards, Takota Edwards-Strickland and Thanyal Edwards; and his sisters, Marie Whittington, Sue Jones and Janice Hardee (Terry). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
