We bid farewell to George Burton Smith of Florence, South Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 17, 2025 at the age of 85. George touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mable Sterling Smith and George B. Smith, Sr.; and his sisters, Norma Beguhl and Patty Abrams. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elaine Metzger Smith; his children, Krys Smith of Florence, Kami Smith of Florence and Kari Smith of Florence; and his siblings, Ruth Worden (Smith) of Shinglehouse, PA and Timothy Smith of Gowanda, NY. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cain Calcutt Funeral Home (512 2nd Loop Rd, Florence, SC 29505). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
