He was predeceased by: his parents, Galen Hartman Smith, Sr. and Elsie Smith (Lazear) of Wellsburg; and his sister Ella Kasmarik (Smith). He is survived by: his sons, Galen Hartman Smith, III (Martha) of Charlotte, Gary Lee "Mark" Smith of Florence and Greg Lynn Smith (Susan) of Greenville; his granddaughters, Amanda Jo Smith of New York City and Emily Camille Smith (Will) of Greensboro; his nephews, Michael Kasmarik (Tamara) of Coon Rapids and Duane Kasmarik (Danielle) of Suwanee, Georgia.; and also Lisa Kasmarik Brichta (Tim Buchanon) of Bowling Green.
