He was predeceased by: his wife Janie; his daughter Dee Anna Smith; his parents, Glover Smith and Inez Smith Nivens; and his siblings, Jack, Billy, Milton Smith and Willene Davenport.
He is survived by: his children, Charles G. "Chuck" Smith, Jr. of Dillsboro, IN, Cheryl Smith Howle (Roger) of Quinby, Carl G. Smith (Teresa) of Florence and Clark G. Smith (Michelle) of Aiken; and his siblings, Ronnie Smith of Leeds, AL and Sherry Turner of Naples, FL. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
