We are sad to announce that on October 14, 2024, at the age of 64, Bhuvana Parameswaran of Florence, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Bhuvana departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Bhuvana. Though Bhuvana may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sulochana Parameswaran and Parameswaran Padmanabhan; and her husband Dr. Ashish Shankar. She is survived by: her daughters, Priyanka Shankar and Shreya Shankar; and her sister Dr. Gowri Parameswaran. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home (2402 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29505).

I met Ashish on my first day at UDel as I crossed the road to go to Roy Rogers. He sensed that I was probably new to Newark and came over to say hello. We have been close friends ever since.
