He was predeceased by: his parents, Lozelle DeMolliens Kearse and Wilbur Manning Kearse; his former wife Ethel Loadholt Kearse of Allendale County; his son Jonathan D. Kearse Sr.; his stepson Richard Kearse; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Kearse Jr. and Shellie Kearse Barker (Jake).
He is survived by: his wife June McMillan Kearse; his son Chester Kearse Jr. (Tracey); his stepdaughter Cindy Segars (Tim); his grandson William M. Kearse; and his stepgrandchildren, Richard S. Kearse (Laura), William S. Kearse (Ashleigh), Lauren S. McGuinn (Derek), Allison B. Penick (Rayce) and Kinsey Bird. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
