As Theresa departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Theresa may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Theresa leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Smith and Noella Smith; and her son Alan Oakley. She is survived by: her daughter Linda Rutland (Wayne McJunkin); her grandson Ryan Rutland; her stepgrandchildren, Gerald "Bubba" Logan, Katie, Austin Payne and Samantha McJunkin; and her cousin Judith Bewsee. She is also survived by two half-brothers; a half-sister; her beloved fur baby.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. (1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115).
