He was predeceased by: his spouse Ruby Wade Brown; his parent John Robinson Brown, Sr.; and his siblings, Wayne Brown, Amelia McCall and Geraldine Lesley.
He is survived by: his parent Leona Winchester Brown; his children, Nancy B. Carter (Bruce) of Charleston, Keith Brown (Elizabeth) of Fair Play and Mattison Brown of Fair Play; his grandchildren, Brad Carter, Nikki Smith, Mary Catherine Sears, Jonathan Brown, Laura Brooke Wicker and Brittany Butler; and his sisters, Virginia Greer of Easley and Marcella Southerland of Anderson.
