He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Eugene Sr. and Frances Duke Head; his son Scotty Head; and his brother Larry Head. He is survived by: his siblings, Reginald Head of Newry, Ronnie Head (Margaret) of Fair Play, Michael Head (Susan) of Fair Play, Thomas Head (Patsy) of Fair Play, Elaine Ramey (Don) of Westminster and Carol Black (Frank) of Seneca. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Due to the covid pandemic, Gene will lie in state Friday, September 18th, 2020 from 10:00 AM -5:00 PM at Sandifer Funeral Home.

“Thinking of the Head family on this day of Gene's visitation and the services tomorrow. Remembering Gene at Mike's home in the springtime two years ago, and know he has had several physical bouts with which he suffered. He no longer is suffering , but is with the Lord now.
