He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hooks and Ava Hooks; his wife Willie Mae Hooks; and his siblings, Ruby Matthews and Bryan Hooks.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen J. Armstead (Ron) of Elgin, S. C.; his brother Danny Hooks (Nancy) of Mt. Olive, N. C.; and his caregiver Dawn of Agape Hospice. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
