It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances Loretta Summerton of Elgin, South Carolina, born in Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on July 27, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Thomas and Cora Bell Hammond Medlin; and her siblings, Dale Lousie "Deacy" Brazell, James Wilbur "Pappy" Hammond and Woodrow Allen "Bubba" Medlin.
She is survived by: her children, Jeanne Ann Summerton (Charles), James "Jimbo" Summerton (Darlene) and Johnny Summerton (Vickie); her grandchildren, Tabitha Satcher (Wes), Brittney Blume (J. B.), Sarah Summerton, Kaci Summerton, Clayton Summerton (Kaylee) and Jordan Summerton (Rachel); her great grandchildren, Elly Satcher, Chloe Sewell, Emily Satcher, Emma Summerton, Jonah Summerton, Avery Summerton and Camden Summerton; her brother Charles Thomas Medlin (JoAnn); and her close friend Susan Martin (Bobby). She is also survived by dog, Buddy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
