He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmond S. Johnson Sr. and Elizabeth Johnson; and his sister Marie Rawls. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Johnson; his children, Edmond "Eddie" Johnson III (Courtney), Suzy Smith (Robert) and Chad Johnson (Melissa); his granddaughter Makayla Johnson; his great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Aubrey Jane; his grandchildren, Bryce Johnson and Banks Smith; and his sister Fran Birch (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
