He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie Joseph and Bes Derrick Newman; his wife Lieselotte Susanna Heinz "Lilo" Newman; and his siblings, Mary Jo Tillman and R. J. Newman.
He is survived by: his children, Denny Reece Newman (Gay), Robert Ray Newman (Debi), Randy Odean Newman (Michele) and Robin Anette Newman. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spears Creek Baptist Church, 116 Spears Creek Church Lane, Elgin, SC 29045.
