He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Rae Patrick Bessinger; his parents, De Canie Bessinger and Lorene Ritter Bessinger; and his sister Eunice Brown. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Bessinger Williams of Ehrhardt and Donald Bessinger (Miriam) of Ehrhardt; his grandchildren, Chris, Catherine Williams, John, Jill Williams, Jeremy, Cathrine Bessinger, Daniel, Jodie Bessinger, Erica and Austin Rodgers; his great grandchildren, Christopher Newren, Caroline Newren, Noah Bessinger, Delanie Bessinger, Harper Bessinger, Claire Williams, Bristol Bessinger, Arlee Bessinger, Grace Williams, Davis Bessinger, Hadley Rodgers, Mason Rodgers and Kane Williams; his sisters, Lovenia Kinard of Ehrhardt, Mary Abbott of Aiken, Elender Mole of Hampton, Melba Linder of Smoaks and Alice Lyons of Branchville; and his friend Jerry Ulmer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
