She was predeceased by: her husband James Everett Hiers; her parents, James Monroe McKenzie and Inez Priester McKenzie; and her sisters, Sara Louise Caldwell, Jenny L. Thomas and Montye DuBose.
She is survived by: her children, Beth Hiers Thomas (Mike) of Hampton, Eve Hiers Ulmer (Johnny) of Ehrhardt and Robin Hiers Golden (Mark) of North Augusta; her grandchildren, Jim Thomas (Kristen), Dan Ulmer (Jessica), Cari Golden and Brad Golden; her great grandchildren, Eli Thomas of Ehrhardt, Rett Thomas of Ehrhardt, John Russell Ulmer of Ehrhardt, Alvin Hiers of Ehrhardt and William Carroll Hiers of Ehrhardt; and her siblings, Barbara McKenzie Hiers of Ehrhardt and James McKenzie of Lexington. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
