He was predeceased by: his son Franklyn Heemann Boardman III. He is survived by: his sisters, Katharine Guardabassi of Boston, Susan Piallat of San Francisco and Mickey; his daughters, Kaci Bendorf of Omaha and Gale Ziegler of Wilmington, Delaware.; his grandchildren, Chelsea Thorpe, Whitney Bendorf, Chandler Bendorf and Noah Ziegler; and his great grandchildren, Nataleigh and Vanessa Thorpe.

Due to the health concerns caused by the coronavirus, a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
