She was predeceased by: her husband John William "Johnny" Carter; her parents, Louis Sanders and Lucille Murdock Sanders; and her sister Jane Finnerty. She is survived by: her children, Leonard Carter (Lisa) of Ehrhardt, Monica Beard (Michael) of Ehrhardt and Clint Carter (Tori) of Ehrhardt; her grandchildren, Grayson Carter, Carson Carter, Priscilla Cutter, McKenzie Beard, McKinnley Beard, Taylor Lyons, Amelia Copeland and Colin Carter; her siblings, Debra Carter (Mike) of Wadmalaw Island, Mark Sanders of Wadmalaw Island and George Sanders of Virginia; her sisters-in-law, Maxie Welch of Ehrhardt and Carolyn Kinard (Carlisle) of Ehrhardt; her niece Mary Louise Schreiber of Ehrhardt; and her caregiver Alma Praylow.
