He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaddis Steedly and Marjorie Yarley Steedly. He is survived by: his wife Fay Johnson Merkey Steedly; his sons, Robert Alan Merkey (Annette) of Walterboro, Randal Merkey (Lisa) of Smoaks and Donald Duane Steedly (Lisa) of Varnville; and his siblings, L. A. Steedly of Ehrhardt, Larry Steedly (Pat) of Summerville and Treva Furr of Ehrhardt. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
