It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard James Schaner of Effingham, South Carolina, who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Cary and Earl Fred Schaner; his former wives, Eloise Schaner and Dixie Schaner; and his siblings, Earl Schaner, Pearl Aeppli and Kathleen Hauber.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine "Kitty" Ann Schaner; his children, Michael (Terry), David (Cindy), Edward Schaner (Tracy) and Marsha Schaner Marvin; and his stepchildren, Randy (Lisa), Ricky Flowers (Lynn), Murdoch, Cedric Lind and Connie Taylor. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Effingham Presbyterian Church (526 E Effingham Hwy, Effingham, SC 29541). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
