He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Scranton and Margaret Dibber Scranton; and his siblings, Rosemary Brandon, Lettie McDaniels and Glen Ray Scranton.

He is survived by: his children, Tammy Derosier (Jack) of DeRidder, Louisiana, Harold Scranton (Shelley) of Indianapolis and Jeremiah Scranton (Kimberly) of Effingham; and his sister Ruth Chipman of Aurora, Indiana. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
