He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivory Bennett Robinson and Robert Peterson. He is survived by: his stepfather Sam S. Robinson; his siblings, Jacqueline Montgomery, Marlene Collins and Al Peterson; his stepsister Jean Fludd (Franklin); and his cousin Gwendolyn B. Jamison (Harry). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
