He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul V. Parrish and Louise M. Parrish; his wife Sylvia W. Parrish; his son Vernon "Kevin" Parrish; his daughter-in-law Sheila E. Parrish; his granddaughter Jennifer L. Parrish; and his sister Elizabeth P. Black.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa P. Shugart; his grandchildren, Hannah P. Oltmanns (Benjamin), Emily B. Shugart and Joshua C. Parrish; his sister Sara P. Jenkins; his nephew Ronald M. Jenkins; and his niece Karen J. Carroll.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Vernon's name to Harmony Baptist Church in Edgemoor, SC.
