He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Timmerman Quarles; his parents, Carlton Quarles and Thelma Holmes Quarles; and his brother-in-law Allen Timmerman. He is survived by: his children, Jack, Lorie Quarles Taylor of North Augusta, Scott and Beverly Quarles of Edgefield; his granddaughters, Carrie Ann Hanks (Mitch) of Columbia and Catherine Quarles of Columbia; his sister Jean M. Walker; his sister-in-law Kathryn Lalonde (Leonard); his nephew Jeff Lalonde (Candi); and his nieces, Jackie Lyons (Johnny) and Shannon Eargle (Tim).
