He is survived by: his wife Sandra Whatley Ellis; his children, Darrell Ellis (Cara) and Gena Brown (Stacy); his grandchildren, Porter, Nolan and Julianna Brown; his siblings, Sheryl Turner (Glenn), Brenda Doolittle (Charles), Roger Ellis (Annie Mae) and Mike Ellis (Cindy); his brother-in-law Luke Barefoot; and his sister Shirley Phillips.
