He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lewis and Emmie Francis Holmes; and his son Philip Frederick Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Jean Holmes; his children, Floyd Allen Holmes and Valerie Holmes C'deBaca (George); his sisters, Ethel Bussey Mear and Carolyn Doolittle (Jojo); his grandchildren, Vaughn Holmes, Lauryn Gable (Dusty), Chelsey Holmes, Olivia C'deBaca, Gabrielle C'deBaca, Brandon Holmes, Nicholas Holmes and Kelli Holmes; and his great grandchildren, Silas Holmes, Jaxon Gable, Isabelle Holmes, James Holmes, Hannah Holmes, Bentley Holmes, Ryan Holmes, Colin Holmes and Noah Holmes.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Holmes Family Cemetery (595 Key Rd, Edgefield, SC 29824).
