He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Brown and Velma Lewis Brown; and his sister Betty Lansberry. He is survived by: his wife Susie Koppenhaver Brown; his children, Jenny Kay Jones (Eric) and Carl James "CJ" Brown, Jr. (Megan); and his grandchildren, Carl James, Bella Reese Brown and Isaac G. Jones.
