She is survived by: her children, Brooker, Sallie, Helen, Lee, Heyward, Henry, Betty, Red, Roy, Harold, Peggy and Naomi; her spouse Ira John Carey of Nassau, Bahamas.; her son Dr. John E. Carey (Jennifer J. Adams); her grandchildren, Olivia, Victoria and Joseph of Sidney, Montana; her son Dr. Robert I. Carey; her grandchildren, Maximillian, Helen, Elizabeth and Lewellyn of Sarasota; her sister Peggy Davis of Orlando; her sister-in-law Jean Strom of Edgefield; and her nephew Henry Long. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family asks that memorials, in lieu of flowers, be made to Edgefield United Methodist Church, Mt Lebanon United Methodist Church, or Hospice House of Greenwood.
