She was predeceased by: her parents, William L. Lucas and Myrtle Plyler Lucas; her husband James C. Carnes; and her brother Patrick Donovan Lucas. She is survived by: her children, Patrick L. Carnes of Kershaw, SC, Jodie A. Carnes (Robert Cross) of Eastover, SC and Mica C. Brakefield (Reid) of Rock Hill, SC; her grandchildren, Halee C. Ellis (Cody), Kendal C. Williams (Samuel), Mary Carson Carnes-Thomson, McKae Carnes-Thomson and Cameron Brakefield; her great grandchild Jaycee Sowell; and her brothers, Michael Lucas of Lancaster and William L. Lucas of Washington. She is also survived by her cat "Purty" and she loved her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lancaster County Relay for Life, 1901 Brunswick Ave. #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
