He was predeceased by: his father T. H. "Hoyt" Mealor; his wife Shelby Jean Mealor; his stepson Greg Chappell; his grandson Joshua Garrett; and his siblings, Edward Mealor, Barbara Harper and Debbie Evatt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Teri Garrett (Roger), Tami Looper (Keith) and Tonya Perritt (James); his stepdaughters, Cathy Vines (Ron) and Linda Harrison (Brian); his grandchildren, Jaymie Anderson (Erik), Jeremy Garrett (Marie), Kyle Perritt, Jonathan Garrett (Keshia), Justin Perritt and Tyler Mealor (Frida Duran); his stepgrandchildren, Melonee Willis (Justin), Leanna Purdue, Natasha Fletcher (Nigel), Kirbi Bliss, Shelby Murphy (Craig) and Grace Johnson (Asjuwon); and his sister Christine McGraw. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
