It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Smith (Easley, South Carolina), who passed away on April 1, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband James Harold Smith Sr.; and her parents, Forest McAdams and Velma McAdams. She is survived by: her sister Sherril Simmons; her children, Joan McCoig (Leon) and James; her grandsons, Donald Stephens (Debra) and Rev. Dale McCoig (Marianne) of Greenville, SC; her great grandchildren, Joanie McCoig, Brett Stephens (Toni) and Philip McCoig (Lynsey) of Piedmont, SC; and her great great grandchild Collins McCoig of Piedmont, SC..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hunts Memorial Baptist Church, 501 Alex Dr., Easley, SC 29640.
