He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hammond and Edna Cothran Hammond; his son Sherman Hammond; and his siblings, Billy Hammond, Ronnie Hammond, Randy Hammond and Ann Rector.
He is survived by: his children, Brad Hammond, Curtis Hammond, Jonathan Koopman, Bryan Hammond and Carmelita Newman. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
