He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest McClellan Ellenburg and Lillie Stewart Ellenburg; his wife Helen Patterson of Pickens; his siblings, Will Earl, Roy, Charles, Jack, Jimmie, Lafoy, Sherwood and Mary Lou; and his daughter Hollace Kay Hamid.
He is survived by: his children, Ralph McClellan Ellenburg, Jr. of Easley, Heller Gwen Ellenburg of Liberty and Heather Marie McConnell of Black Mountain; and his grandchildren, Tariq Gibran Hamid, Tara Redick (T. K.), Jennifer Welborn, Tyson McConnell and Regina Logan. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
