He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Smith Gaines; his children, Kim Gaines Wilson (Ted) and Kevin Gaines (Angie); his brother Bill Gaines (Claudia); and his grandchildren, Jarrett, Maddie, Eli, Pete, Blythe and Macie.
