He was predeceased by: his parents, Vess Mahaffey and Essie Mahaffey; his brothers, Glen Gilstrap, J. B. Gilstrap, Heyward Mahaffey, Vernon Mahaffey and Stanley Mahaffey; and his son Stephen Mahaffey.
He is survived by: his sons, Phillip Mahaffey and Mark Mahaffey; his daughter-in-law Karen Weber Mahaffey; his granddaughters, Rebecca Mahaffey and Destinee Mahaffey Merritt; and his grandson-in-law Ryan Merritt.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church (4174 Dacusville Hwy, Easley, SC 29640).
