He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Cothran and Purdie McCall Cothran; his wife Clara Rackley Cothran; his daughter Sherry Lynn Cothran; his sister Mildred Robinson; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Robinson and Paul Rasor.
He is survived by: his children, Michael D. Cothran (Dodie) of Easley and Karen C. Gillespie (Michael) of Sunset; his siblings, Roger Cothran (Sheila), Ella Rasor and Debra Manning (Jim); his grandchildren, Jessica Cothran, Brianna Cothran and Trent Cassell (Jordan); and his great grandchild Ellie Grey Cassell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 100 Clay Street, Easley, SC 29642.
