He was predeceased by: his parents, Leila B. Murrell and Robert L. Murrell; his former wife Janette Moore Murrell; and his sisters, Shirley White and Faye Simpson.
He is survived by: his son Samuel M. Murrell. He is also survived by one granddaughter and two step granddaughters; one step son; three nieces and one nephew; and many other family and friends.
