She was predeceased by: her husband William Gravely; her son Kevin McDowell; her parents, Claude Whitmire and Laura Whitmire; and her siblings, Jimmy Whitmire and Gene Whitmire.
She is survived by: her children, Brian McDowell (Leslie) and Julie Hood (John); and her grandchildren, Wes McDowell and Brooke Morgan.
In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society in lieu of sending flowers.
