He is survived by: his spouse Frankie Ann Bates; his children, Teresa Annette Ramey (Isaac) of Easley, Elizabeth Christine Whitlock (Barry) of Six Mile, Rebecca Lee Bates of Duncan and Charles Lafate Bates II (Duane) of Gray Court; his grandchildren, Toby Jason Mullinnix, Joshua Neil Mullinnix, Michael A. Mullinnix, Sarah Mullinnix, Jeremy Michael Whitlock, Elizabeth Jessi Lou Whitlock, Phillip Bates, Brittany Bates, Frankie Blake Bates and Catlin S. DeVall; and his great grandchildren, Sabastian, Skyler, Payton Mullinnix, Miles, Hudson Mullinnix, Huxley Mullinnix and Milley Mullinnix.
