He is survived by: his wife Lynn Garrett Simmons of Easley; his daughters, Amy Britz (Luke) of Fort Mill and Jennifer Ables (Ross) of Anderson; his grandchildren, Clayton, Carsyn and Connor; and his aunts, Doris Childs and Gertrude Hughes of Pickens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made on behalf of the family to the Alzheimers Association located at 4124 Clemson Blvd, Suite L Anderson, SC 29621.
