He was predeceased by: his parents, Fields Richard Chapman and Fannie Bryant Chapman; and his siblings, Lillian Stewart, Genell Rochester, Hubert Chapman, Marion Chapman, Newman Chapman and Carl Chapman.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Smith (Randy) of Travelers Rest and Greg Chapman (Tina) of Pickens; and his grandchildren, Alexis McKinney, Kyndal Ryder (Josh), Mackenzie Hudson (Austin), Joanna Smith, Sydney Wike (Aaron), Cole Smith and Gracey Gassaway (Caleb). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain View Funerals and Cremations - Pickens Chapel (105 Florence St, Pickens, SC 29671). A burial was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at the Bethlehem Church Cemetery (133 Bethlehem Church Rd, Pickens, SC 29671).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Billy's honor may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
