He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nelson and Nancy Elizabeth Dease Hinson; and his brothers, Charles Hinson and Sonny Hinson. He is survived by: his wife Belinda Evans Hinson; his daughter Angie Fowler (Greg); his grandchildren, Miles Fowler and Greer Fowler; and his sister Brenda Hegler.
