He was predeceased by: his parents, Essie Rebecca Tankersley Batson and Zion Dayton Batson; and his sister Sarah Elizabeth Batson. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Pickelsimer Batson; his daughters, Deborah Lynne Holcombe and Rebecca Elizabeth Batson Bridwell; and his granddaughters, Brittany Hildreth (Evan), Savannah Holcombe, Sara-Grace Bridwell, Caroline Bridwell and Anna Bishop Bridwell.
