It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Burgess (Duncan, South Carolina), born in Gaffney, South Carolina, who passed away on February 8, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her spouse Mansel Thomas Burgess; and her parents, Jamie Bailey and Louise Bailey. She is survived by: her daughter Linda B. Woodie of Greenville; her brother Gene Bailey of Spartanburg; and her granddaughter Lauren Woodie of Mauldin.

The family respectfully requests memorials be made to Washington Baptist Church, 3500 N Highway 14, Greer, SC.
