He was predeceased by: his parents, William Starling Phillips and Gladys Rollins Phillips Coley; his son W. C. Phillips; and his siblings, Lola Mae Phillips, Sue Millwood, Tommy and Joe Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Case Phillips; his stepson Johnnie Sloan of Wellford; and his siblings, Cozette Smith of Spartanburg, Faye Quinn of Cowpens and Roger Phillips.
