He was predeceased by: his parents, Verious Cleveland Dempsey and Eleanor Brewer Dempsey Alexander. He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Libby Dempsey; his children, Arthur L. Dempsey, Jr., Laurie Dempsey Swan (Todd), Robert Dempsey (Kasia), Michael Dempsey and Debbie East; his brother Robert P. Dempsey; and his grandsons, Cameron Smith and Jacob Swan.
